Wim Morshuis is professor of cardiothoracic surgery and head of the department at the Radboud University Medical Hospital in Nijmegen the Netherlands since 8 years. Previously he worked for 25 years in the St. Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein The Netherlands. In this hospital dozens of Italian doctors had part of their cardiothoracic training, as most of the present staff in Bologna. Apart from chest wall reconstruction and surgery for CTEPH, for which he is affiliated with the Amsterdam University Medical Center, he is specialized in aortic surgery. He was a faculty member for all but one Aortic Meetings in Bologna since 2001. This meeting will be his last as he will retire in October this year.
