Luis Maroto graduated from the University of Navarra (Pamplona, Spain) in 1992.  He completed his Cardiac surgery residency training at the 12 de Octubre Hospital in Madrid in 1998. Since 2003, he has been a staff surgeon at the Clínico San Carlos Hospital in Madrid . He is mainly interested in aortic and coronary surgery. He is member of the Spanish Society of Cardiology, the Spanish Society of Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery and the the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery. He is associate professor of Surgery at Complutense University of Madrid and Director of the Cardiac Surgery Department in Clínico San Carlos Hospital in Madrid.
