I was trained in general surgery in Antwerp (Belgium) immediately followed by training in cardiothoracic surgery in The Netherlands at the St. Antonius Hospital and in Great Britain (Great Ormond Street). I consecutively became staff member as cardiothoracic surgeon in St. Antonius Hospital Nieuwegein until 2009. I wrote my medical thesis (PhD) on “surgical treatment of thoracoabdominal aortic aneurysms” in 1995. Actually I am working as cardiovascular surgeon in AZ St. Jan Bruges (Belgium) since 2009 where I perform cardiac surgery with special interest in aortic surgery. Temporarily affiliation with the Radboud University Nijmegen (The Netherlands).
