Yutaka Okita

Kobe – Japan

Dr. Yutaka Okita graduated from Kobe University School of Medicine in 1978. His medical career started in the Tenri Hospital, Nara, Japan and he finished Cardiovascular Surgical Residency in 1984. He went abroad to have further trainings in the National Heart Hospital, London in 1986 and in the University of Alabama at Birmigham, US in 1989. He moved to the National Cardiovascular Center, Osaka in 1993 and became the Professor, the Department of Surgery, Kobe University, Kobe, Japan in 1999. He moved to the Takatsuki General Hospital in 2018. Dr. Okita serves as the President of Japanese Association for Thoracic Surgery, the Japanese Society of Cardiovascular Surgery, and the Asian Society for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery.
